Description

With funding from the Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), National Indian Justice Center’s Native American Children Training Forum (NACTF) will be sponsoring this blended training session (i.e. delivered onsite and online) in coordination with Tribal STAR, a training and technical assistance program of the Academy for Professional Excellence, SDSU School of Social Work that focuses on building collaborations that improve outcomes for American Indian/Alaska Native children in child welfare. Tribal STAR will provide emphasis on the Indian Child Welfare Act, and offer State and Local Agencies with a better understanding and foundation of ICWA.

This training is inclusive designed for tribal social workers, child welfare workers, social workers, children's services providers, youth advocates, department of justice professionals, law enforcement professionals, elected Tribal officials, Tribal leaders, and all tribal staff or community partners who represent tribal interests in court proceedings involving Native American Children who have been abused/neglected or at risk.
